Cutting Mills – Particle Size Reduction

Samples classified as medium-hard, brittle, tough and fibrous can be reduced in size using FRITSCH laboratory cutting mills. Samples of this type include: agricultural samples such as silage and feeds, rice, grain, animal feeds, plastic materials, paper, textiles and wood.

Cutting mills reduce the particle size of a sample by using a combination of shear, impact and cutting forces. The sample is retained within the cutting chamber until it passes through the chosen sieve within the instrument. The sieves have been designed to aid the cutting and shearing and speed up the particle size reduction of the sample

For advice on the most suitable laboratory sample preparation technique for your material, please enter the details of your material; indicating the amount of sample, the starting size and the final fineness required on our contact information sheet. We will then be able to advise on which FRITSCH laboratory sample preparation instrumentation will fulfil your requirements.
