TKA LabTower EDI – Pure / Ultra Pure Water System

TKA provide many solutions for the purification of water from simple demineralisation through to ultra pure water. Whatever your requirements TKA can provide a solution.

The TKA LabTower EDI utilises the TKA Pacific water purification system and has been designed to produce 10-15MΩcm (0.067 and 0.1 µS/cm) and with a press of a button ultra pure water at 18.2MΩcm (0.055µS/cm). These instruments contain a pre-treatment cartridge (consisting of a Reverse Osmosis membrane and an activated carbon filter) and an ion exchange cartridge.

Purified water can be drawn (on demand) from the point of dispense at the front of the instrument or from the integrated 100 litre water storage tank. To ensure the water produced by the Pacific does not deteriorate a recirculation pump periodically passes the purified water back over the Reverse Osmosis membrane. This ensures the stored water is always at the optimal quality and ready to use immediately.

These instruments are freestanding with a small footprint on the laboratory floor. These instruments should be offered to customers’ whose daily usage of purified water is between 100 and 500 litres per day. Three models are available with different production capacities of 15, 30 and 45 litres per hour.

A digital display of conductivity, which can either be in µS/cm or MΩ and temperature. Limits of measurement can be set to ensure water produced is up to the required specification. A red LED and buzzer indicate water performance problems. The limiter may be switched off for other applications.

For the preparation of biologically sensitive media or substrates models with ultra-filtration and Ultra Violet lamp can be supplied as a means of pre-sterilisation of the water produced.

Replacement cartridges can be supplied. although cartridges can be re-generated, this is not a service we are able to offer our customers. However, we would be pleased to provide information concerning disposable resin so that you can re-generate the cartridges in-house.
